NAD+
NAD · NAD plus · nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide · β-NAD · coenzyme I
Not a peptide — a coenzyme. Clinics give it IV; Mix is for a subcutaneous vial. It can sting, and a fast IV push is a bad idea.
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a coenzyme every cell uses for redox and sirtuin activity. Levels fall with age. Wellness clinics infuse it IV; research and compounding pharmacies also supply lyophilized vials for subcutaneous use. Precursors (NMN, NR, niacin) are oral supplements, not this entry. Injectable NAD+ is not FDA-approved for anti-aging.
Usual range
25–200 mg
Schedule
2–5× weekly subq, or a short daily block
Half-life
Minutes in plasma; tissue effects are what people are chasing
How it is used
Cellular coenzyme — not a peptide — used in IV clinics and research vials.
Subcutaneous · also Intramuscular
Morning or early afternoon. Subq is the home-vial route in this calculator. IV (often 250–750 mg over hours) belongs in a clinic — a fast IV push is what causes chest tightness and panic-like flushing.
4–8 week blocks are common in anecdotal protocols, then reassess energy and sleep — not a forever daily shot.
How to mix this vial
Typical vial 500 mg · 5 mL BAC
500 mg + 5 mL bacteriostatic water → 100 mg/mL. 50 mg = 50 units; 100 mg = 100 units (1 mL). NAD+ stings — a slower push and a little extra water help. IV bags are a clinic procedure, not a home Mix.
Lyophilized: fridge or freezer. After mixing, fridge and use promptly; solutions can yellow and lose potency.
Side effects
- Injection-site burn
- Flushing
- Nausea and cramping
- Chest tightness or shortness of breath if pushed too fast (especially IV)
- Headache
- Fatigue the first sessions
Who should skip this
- Pregnancy
- Unstable heart disease
- Active cancer unless a clinician is directing NAD-related care
- Do not self-administer IV
Nutrition note
Protein and resistance training still do more for mitochondria than a vial. Niacin flush from oral B3 is a different molecule — do not stack high-dose niacin on injection day until you know how you react.

Endogenous molecule, unapproved as an anti-aging drug. Clinic IV and compounded subq are not interchangeable. Mix math here is for a subcutaneous vial, not an infusion.
Peptipedia is an educational calculator, not medical advice. Many catalog entries are unapproved for human use. Approved molecules have labels that outrank this app. Do not use this to self-prescribe. Consult a licensed clinician. Not for anyone under 18, pregnant, or being treated for cancer.
